A note from Erna Johnson - Women's Ministries Director
The Seventh-day Adventist Church teaches the priesthood of all believers as it is stated in 1 Peter 2:9: "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."
We also have a beautiful text from the book Evangelism page 469 that states: "When a great and decisive work is to be done, God chooses men and women to do this work, and it will see the loss, if the talents of both are not combined."
There is no doubt in my mind that God wants us, his women, to minister for him. Women's Ministries is all about women ministering to women. Helping women find their identity and self esteem in Jesus Christ. My favourite sentence is: "Women's Ministries is here to help women reach their potential." I believe one hundred percent in that statement. We need to help one another reach that goal.
Women's Ministries encourages women to improve their potential and participation in the mission of the Church and provides a support system and forum for women in and out of the Church. It promotes programmes to mentor young women and encourages college women academically through a scholarship system.
As you "touch a heart, and tell the world" through your ministry, may the Lord bless you and guide you.
